The KEF ‘egg’ took the consumer electronics world by storm when it was first introduced. Its revolutionary looks have been copied by a plethora of imitators but its outstanding performance has been impossible to
re-create as awards around the World for these remarkable systems testify.
The most compact of the KHT systems, the KHT1005.2, has continued the success story of this now iconic ‘egg’ as they may look cute but they sound anything but. Now in its second generation, this system delivers an incredible performance that belies its size – more intense, more involving and with the addition of the new KUBE-1 subwoofer with more impact than before.
SATELLITE AND CENTRE SPEAKERS
The sleek KHT1005.2 comprises four satellites (HTS1000.2), a centre channel speaker (HTC1001.2) - all closed box design - and a beautifully matched subwoofer the KUBE-1. In die-cast aluminium enclosures, the satellites and centre speaker incorporate the smallest ever (75mm/3in.) KEF Uni-Q® array. With enhanced tweeter performance for the satellite and centre surround, a frequency range of 100Hz-30kHz has been achieved for excellent dispersion and as the centre speaker has an identical array, perfect timbre match across all 5 channels.
Extended bandwidth is achieved through the use of a 15 mm (0.6in.) aluminium HF unit. Wall mounting brackets are included as part of the system giving the user the option to wall or desk mount. Optional stands with cable management facility are available.
Available in matt silver and high gloss black finishes.
A compact and yet high performing subwoofer, the KUBE-1 provides a powerful and precise bass whether for the latest action packed blockbuster or the rhythmic sounds of that favourite CD. The sealed cabinet is designed to be space saving and yet the 150W on-board amplifier which powers both the 200mm (8in.) long-throw bass driver and the 200mm (8in.) ABR (Active Bass Reflex) provides a performance that belies its size.
